About Us
Owner and local proprietor Jeff Pettitt started the company in 2023 after seeing the demand for exterior finishing across the North Okanagan. Prior to starting Shuswap Structures, he worked with other contractors on many building projects for 15 years and was a journeyman carpenter for 6 years. Operations Manager Zane Miller is his business partner, with a 10 year history of residential building throughout the Okanagan region. Leading their staff, they supervise every job.

I’ve been building for decades and have experienced a wide array of builders, carpenters and sub-contractors. There are plenty of builders out there and they are (for the most part) reliable at building structures. What separates them is their ability to maintain the balance of building structures and while keeping a strong attention to detail. Esthetics are important too, especially in open timber framing. Jeff and his team were extremely great at both!
We were looking to get a steeply pitched roof over our off-grid cabin deck (which obviously offered up a few more challenges). After Jeff’s walk-through and quote, I added in some skylights. He was quick to adjust and his team executed it flawlessly. On top of excellently merging the new wood/build to old, he and his team also built in a great gable design to the open end of the roof. Extra effort without asking for anything in return other than their pride in workmanship… A rare quality! Super pleased with the experience and the result. Would definitely recommend Jeff and his team for any project!
